The Elvira B. Pierce Scholarship Fund Celebrates 25 Years!

                  Join us in celebration at the Elvira B. Pierce Scholarship Fund’s

   25^th luncheon on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 12 to 3 PM.

Together with students, teachers, and staff of Overbrook High School and community supporters, we will express our support for striving Overbrook High graduates. The mission to honor exemplary students from Overbrook High School was conceived in 1980 by our late founder, Mrs. Elvira B. Pierce. For twenty years she single-handedly funded scholarships to graduates of Overbrook, her neighborhood high school. In 2000, her efforts were incorporated into the Elvira B. Pierce Scholarship Fund (EBPSF).

Now, the EBPSF is counting on you to help needy students who, despite facing tremendous odds, have not dropped out or lost hope. At the luncheon, we will recognize our 2023-2024 scholarship winners: Michael James, (Norfolk State University); Jaedyn Johnson (Lincoln University); Eric Seigle (Montgomery County Community College); and Aariana Stratton (Morgan State University).

The keynote speaker at this year's luncheon will be Dr. Jermaine   Dawson, Deputy Superintendent of Academic Services, School District of Philadelphia.
