Lucky Kromah is attending St. Augustine University in North Carolina. He completed his first semester with a 3.1 GPA.  Lucky was a student-athlete at Overbrook who not only excelled in track and hurdles, but also excelled in academics. His high school counselor writes that Lucky’s “ability to eradicate academic barriers is phenomenal, given the plethora of problems which plague urban entities…  Determination, perseverance, and ambition are some of the qualities he will utilize...”  She continues by saying that she believes that Lucky will “continue to uphold all those personality traits that make him an outstanding student and an exemplary young man.” 

 Lucky writes: “There are numerous things that I plan to do to help improve my community after college… I plan to start a tutoring program. Tutoring can help strengthen subject comprehension, boost confidence and build important learning skills. Tutoring gives students the individualized attention that they didn’t get in a crowded classroom. This helps children who struggle to keep up, as well as those who aren’t challenged enough. I know the feeling of not understanding things as quickly as others and how frustrating it can get when you just want to keep up with your classmates.” 

Lucky is majoring in business administration and intends to become an entrepreneur.
